In 2025, Kemberlei Smith joined Hagerstown, Maryland’s Optimal Case Management, Inc., as the coordinator of community services. Her responsibilities in this position involve helping individuals navigate the Medicaid Waiver Program. As a knowledgeable service coordinator, Kemberlei Smith provides clients with case management support and advocacy, with an overriding goal of ensuring that all individuals and families have their health and safety needs met. She has also made professional presentations at Optimal Case Management.
Moreover, Kemberlei Smith spent more than five years as a coordinator of community services at the Community Service Board in Fairfax County, Virginia, and the Montgomery, Maryland, Local Health Department, with a focus on Department of Health and Human Services coordination.
